SamMobile has confirmed the existence of Gear VR, virtual reality device from Samsung, which will debut in September along with Samsung’s new tablet, the Galaxy Note 4 in major technology fair in Berlin, IFA 2014.
In fact, these are the first images of Gear VR, which is said to be connected with other devices Galaxy line through USB 3.0 port.
The device will rely on a Galaxy phone’s accelerometer, gyroscope and processing power to track head motion; it does not in itself have the capacity to simulate VR (with no onboard sensors of its own).
If turns out to be so, then pick up the new Samsung device could be created faster than expected, and will reduce the costs of creating the device.
Further, it states that VR Gear will also have a small screen touchscreen, which will allow users to see the world through cameras back from their phones.
As has been said so far, Samsung will develop the Gear VR hardware, while VR Oculus will be responsible for the software of the device, which will probably include some popular mobile applications that we use today.
